The day before Valentines Day, and sense we both had job things to do on Valentines Day we desided to eat our Valentines Day dinner the day before. I book my favorite Italian restaurant in Gothenburg, Sweden, for us and lucky for us they had desided to do a test run on their Valentines Days dinner the day before.
La Cucina Italiana is a small, but very very nice restaurant with few seats. Around 20 seats, depends on how they put the tables. White tablecloths, very nice chairs, red bricks all walls, small haft moon bar in marble and one big window to look out through. Have been the same owner, italian guy from Campain region, and he is so friendly and funny. When ever I eat here, it´s always high quality on the food. I´m so surprised that he don´t get the BIB Gourmand from Michelin Guide. The location is also perfect, cross the street from the big hotel, Gothia Towers, that are cross the other street from the amusement park Liseberg.
Arriveds and we start with some Champagne Pol Roger Vintage 2009. With the Valentine Day menu we also choose winepairing. The food is great, really great and he have made heart shaped ravioli and dessert was of course strawberries, strawberry icecream and chocolate. Classic romantic flavours. The wines was great and matched very well. It was a magic and very romantic night.
This Valentine Day was one of the best ever, both for the food and company. Then that this Valentine Day dinner turned out to be the last dinner for us, is almost little ironic and very very sad.
When you are in Gothenburg, you must book a table at La Cucina Italiana and enjoy a dinner there. I´m there often and every time I leave the restaurant very satisfied.
